Our Story

Our story began with a quiet appreciation for the parts of nature that most people walk past without a second thought. We started this journey because we saw something remarkable in the way a tree heals itself, specifically the jempinis tree. When a mistletoe plant grows on its branches, the tree creates a dense and beautiful growth known as parasite wood. These formations were once ignored or used as simple fuel, but we saw them as the foundation for something lasting.
Our mission is to celebrate these natural transformations by carving sculptures that honor the original spirit of the wood. Because we work with materials shaped by nature rather than a factory mold, our core philosophy is that the wood dictates the design. This means that every single sculpture we ship is a one of one original.
When you look at the photos on our site, you are seeing a representation of a specific species or form, but the piece that eventually sits on your shelf will have its own specific grain, its own curves, and its own personality. We believe that this is the true magic of owning handmade art. If every piece were identical, the soul of the work would be lost. We understand that this makes our work different from mass produced decor, but we choose to lean into those variations.
Each hummingbird, whale, or mushroom is a tiny celebration of a moment in time that can never be replicated. We use a simple wax polish to protect the wood while keeping its tactile, raw feeling intact. We hope that when you bring one of these carvings into your home, you see the beauty in its unique imperfections and appreciate that your piece is the only one of its kind in existence. By choosing our work, you are supporting a slower way of creating and a deep respect for the unpredictable art of the natural world.
